"Artist Appearance"
Upon request, Flagstaff 's artist - Nita Garland, will make an appearance at our Bed & Breakfast. You will note that Nita’s art work hangs on almost every railing in our Victorian styled home. We proudly display them and they are for purchase as well! Stay with us and take a part of the West home with you! Nita Garland
I attempt to synthesize the way my subject looks and how it evokes feelings. I am like others who, for thousands of years have relied on tools and materials to refashion perception. What appears as inexplicable mystery is the perfect foil for those of us who take it on with our awe and inadequacy. Drawn by an experience or play of light, we grab our tools and talk back. I am

interested in describing the relationship between external and internal phenomena. Inevitably, I want a picture that expresses a connection between perception and making connections…for relaying the wonder and humility of making marks that select, describe, and express that process.
I give time tostudy life, absorbing it through my senses, and putting down written and pictorial interpretations of it.
As an eighth year resident of northernArizona I think it is a terrific place to touch the earth.Ithas not only cultivated my plein air habit, its Alligator Junipers and old Ponderosa pines have fueled my faith in life’s endurance.
